Prom Night : C'est La Vie

Finally having some time to blog!
I've been hanging out a lot since As ended and I've been really tired.
Took many naps today and I'm finally gonna blog about our prom night wheeee :)

The Dress
I ordered my prom dress online from Prom Girl in September
and it arrived in about 2 weeks.
I decided to buy my dress early since I was buying online just in
case the dress arrived late, and I need not worry about
finding my dress within a short period of time after As.

I was super excited!!
Checked the location of the package online EVERYDAY after school,
and I would squeal in excitement whenever the package was transported to the next location.
It's a pink strapless ombre dress from La Femme.

This is the picture of the dress from the La Femme website:
Photo from Internet

This is the picture of the dress I took:

MAJOR LOVEEEE.
It was on sale when I ordered it at USD99.

To be honest I was a little worried after ordering my dress
because I read poor reviews about some dresses bought from Prom Girl only
after I ordered mine.

Luckily my dress was alright (I think it might be because
the dress is from La Femme, and I did check with the official La Femme
website that Prom Girl is an authorised retailer).
Although the colour is a little more intense than I expected,
it's still acceptable and I love it!

It was a little too big for me though, and I was lucky that my grandmother's
friend offered to help me alter it.

The Shoes
I bought my shoes from Anna Nucci at Far East Plaza
while shopping for Magdalene and Siew Yeng's dress after As.

It was on sale at SGD60 while the original price was SGD131.80.

I had to find a pair of really high heels because my dress was really long and
I didn't want to alter the length.
This pair is 5 inches (12.5cm) and I was kinda tall that day.. hehe.

I really like the design of this pair of heels
BUT the back zipper gave me blisters after walking in them for a while.
Had to get Nexcare foot care pad for heels because it hurt a lot :/

The Clutch

Bought my clutch from Anna Nucci the same day I bought my heels
and it was on sale too!
SGD20 while the original price was SGD52.80.

Looked pretty decent, but there's a reason for the discounted price.

I had to be really careful when opening my clutch in case it got torn apart...

Turning yellow because I think they kept it for quite some time...

Well, couldn't really expect much because it was less than half the usual price.
It was kinda pretty and not too showy, plus it matched my dress
so it was okay.

The Nails
Got my nails done at the Far East Plaza branch of Milly's with Shermaine.

Gelish nails with glitter for SGD30.
Love my nails so much that I couldn't stop looking at them hahaha.

My nails were done by this really nice and pretty lady called Xiao Wei.
She was really patient while waiting for me to choose the colour I wanted
and I think she did a great job for my nails :)

The Hair
I dyed my hair in Malaysia at a salon introduced by my uncle who lives there.
Did a two-tone dye and I spent 5 hours in the salon.
Will leave the details for another post next time hehe.

For Prom, I curled my hair myself using an iron curler.

I was really afraid I couldn't do it nicely because I only got the
iron curler a few days before prom and I have never curled my own hair before.

The first day I tried curling my hair, it was disastrous.
I ended up with tangled ends and the curls definitely did not look like curls.
I looked as though I came out from the rubbish chute.
HAHAHA.

Thankfully it turned out okay, perhaps not as good as the hair styling
done at hair salons but still 勉强 pass luh. Hahaha.

The Accessories
I was really afraid of over-dressing so I opted not to
wear any necklaces or bracelets.

Instead, I wore a pair of earrings from Accessorize.

Finally Ready for Prom
Silly me brought everything except for the most important thing: MY TICKET.
Loser to the max.
I ended up being able to enter, but I couldn't participate in the lucky draw :(
#不是我的就不是我的
Not fated to be a lucky winner :(

Never mind, I shall keep the ticket and call out my own number at home.
Prize will be more coins while playing Tsum Tsum Line game.
Own self play, own self happy LOL.

Tadaa~
This was how I looked for prom.
Lots of thanks to my mum for getting me everything I needed :)

Prom was held at Conrad Centennial Singapore this year.
Our theme this year is C'est La Vie: Come What May.
Er, not really a theme that indicated what we should wear, but ok la doesn't matter cuz it won't
influence my dress choice one.
We had free printing of Instagram photos when we #rvhsclassof2014,
which was really thoughtful of the organising committee.
Everyone looked really gorgeous and good-looking!
Lighting was horrible for photo-taking though.

Dinner menu~
My personal favourites were the chicken soup and dessert hehe.

Prepared for prom with Shermaine at her place and it was so much better than preparing alone!
Thanks for having me babe! :)

Before leaving her house~
Isn't Shermaine's dress cute? She looked super pretty!
Her dad fetched us to Conrad after we got ready.
Thank you uncle! :)

My dress was still too long even with a pair of 5-inch heels :/
I spent the night either stepping on my own dress or getting stepped by others.
Trying to get out of my seat was a total hassle because the chair was on my dress too...

And I'm really sad I ended up with a hole on the bottom of my dress at the front. :(
Perhaps I will alter the dress to knee-length the next time I wanna wear it.

We shall now commence the spamming of photos!
Most of the photos were not taken using my phone because it was too lag
and it quickly went out of battery.
Gotta thank Shermaine because most photos were taken using her phone.
THANK YOUUUU <3
Would have brought my camera along, but it couldn't fit into my clutch.

Le dance clique~ Love you girls so so much!!

Cca batch mates of 6 years. 我们长大了 :')
For once we are all looking like ladies and not caked with thick stage makeup haha.

 Our favourite photo together.
We took so many photos at different spots and the lighting was just horrid.

This one de lighting not bad also!

Thankful for this bunch for making my JC years so much fun!
Looking forward to more outings :)

With Jenny~

Magdalene insisted on taking a photo with this pose hahahaha.
She is super adorable la!

I look so fat in this pic omg bad angle :/
My tuition mate for many years, Golden Retriever.
Just kidding haha, I mean Gordon lolol.
Thanks for being such an asshole all these years!
Will not miss attending lessons with you HAHA.

Mr A&F can maintain please?!
HAHA he was forced to get stripped on stage after receiving the award
and he never got his shirt back.
Still pulled his sash aside to show his muscles lolol you think fan service ah?

Very tall hor?
FAKE ONE!
This one tiptoe still say crop off his feet tsk tsk.

Oink came to look for me afterwards and brought me clothes to change out.
Thanks for coming and waiting!
Took me super long to finally leave because we were all busy taking pictures haha.

Our school was invited to an after-party at Zouk,
but I gave it a miss because mummy said no.
And I'm a good girl who listens to mummy. HAHA.

Now that I look at all the price tags, prom is really a time when our wallets go empty.
Even the dresses sold at Far East Plaza aren't cheap.
I know some friends who share hotel rooms to prepare together, and that costs money too.
It is a once in a lifetime experience though...
Feeling really grateful and blessed to have my mum to get me what I want :)

That's all for now!
More posts up soon hehe.
Thank you for reading :)

With love, Minnee
