Hello, my name is Minnee. It's pronounced the same way as "Minnie", which is why many people think it's spelt that way. I'm also known as Minnee Lurbx. When I was around 15, I wanted a nice Facebook name and I came up with Lurb, which is actually a weird way of spelling Love. And you know, kids back then, we like to put Xs here and there for usernames. Like -xMinneex- or xXminneeXx. Or maybe it's just me HAHA.
So tadaaa, I became known as Minnee Lurbx (pronounced Mee-Nee Lerbs).
Some of my friends call me Maini because a group of us were playing with different pronunciations of our names one day and it just stuck with me.
There are quite a few people who hear my name for the first time and think that I'm "Mini", only to get a shock/feel amused when they see me because I'm not mini at all. I'm like mini, but upsized. Lolol.
Yupp, you guessed it right - I'm kinda tall. 'Kinda', because I'm in a constant dilemma of thinking whether I'm tall or short.
I'm 1.69cm tall, a height which varies according to the equipment I use to measure my height.
If you see me with one eye big, one eye small in my photos: IT'S NORMAL. I've always been like this since young, and I heard that my grandmother even tried to 'rub' the smaller eye to make it bigger LOL.
I enjoy dressing up and dolling myself because I am very 爱美 (love being pretty). But there are days when I'm very lazy and I prefer dressing down, which is most of the time. Keke.
I also have a very short memory span, which explains why I'm so forgetful. Never interrupt me when I'm talking cuz I will immediately forget what I was talking about before you butted in. Keeping a blog is therefore a way for me to capture memories so that I can look back one day and read about them.
I love to dance, sing, shop, eat and sleep. I have been dancing since I was about 5 years old and I dance Ballet, Chinese dance and Kpop. I prefer Kpop choreos from girl groups instead of boy bands because I just can't pull off a manly style.
I was born and raised in Singapore, but I'm currently holding a Malaysia passport because my parents are Malaysian. No, I do not speak Chinese with a Malaysian accent usually but it comes naturally when I speak with my Malaysian relatives/people with Malaysian accents.
I can speak English, Chinese and Cantonese. I studied Conversational Malay in school for 4 years but I'm not really proficient in it because I don't get much practice using the language. I can read Korean words but I don't understand the meaning of most of the words because my vocab is limited. But I hope one day I can speak fluent Korean. :)
Nope, I'm not Cantonese. I'm actually Hakka, but I can't really speak the dialect and I only understand what people are saying if they speak really slowly. This is because my family speaks Cantonese at home instead of Hakka. Hence, I speak Canto.
My closest friends are a mix of girls and guys. Usually, I make new friends quickly and I can go crazy with you in a matter of minutes after knowing you. But if I'm feeling anti-social that day... then I will be really, really anti-social. Haha.
I'm an animal lover and I hope that one day I can own a Yorkie. I wanna come home everyday to my dog running up to me and giving me puppy eyes. *melts at the thought of it*
Ohh did I mention that my favourite colour is PINK? I carry a pink bag to school with a pink wallet, a pink file and a pink pencil case filled with pink stationery. Yupp I think you get my point haha.
Ok la this About Me is getting really long. It's impossible to know everything about me in one post. So why not you read my blog to find out more? :)
