Paradiso.

Enjoying life while I can is what I do best now hehehe.
Woke up late and spent my whole afternoon reading drama recaps of Arang and the Magistrate, from episode 1 all the way to the last episode, ep 20. Hehe ^^v

In case you don't know, I have this weird obsession with drama recaps.
Cuz usually when I have school I don't have the luxury of time to finish a drama
if I start watching it, and I'm afraid that if I start watching a drama
I won't be able to concentrate on my studies.
So for me, I feel that rather than exposing myself to the risk of giving in to temptations,
just remove those temptations and there won't be any problem at all.

Because of this, I'm contented with reading drama recaps,
and I usually get them from Dramabeans :)
They're quite efficient and recaps usually come out the following day the drama is aired.
Recaps usually come episode by episode, with pictures and sometimes important dialogues.
I enjoy reading recaps cuz some recappers can be really entertaining with their comments and writing style haha.

It's sort of a habit for me now, and sometimes when I do get the
chance to watch dramas, I can get impatient and I would end up
reading recaps instead because I wanna know what's gonna happen next.
Reading recaps can even move me to tears sometimes lol!
It's just so much more convenient~
Yeah I still watch the dramas after reading the recaps luhh, cuz my super duper bad stm allows me to enjoy the drama without really remembering what's gonna happen next LOL.

Oops too carried away talking about drama recaps heh.

So anyway, tonight we had a family dinner to celebrate my bro's birthday tomorrow.
The dinner was at Paradiso Restaurant & Bar, located at Sentosa.
It has a nice ambience, and the food was not too bad.

However, I think there wasn't enough staff to tend to customers.
As a result, the service can be a bit slow and they messed up one of our orders,
but the staff were friendly so it's not really an issue for me.
I just wanted to enjoy the evening with my family
so I was in a good mood haha.

On the way to Paradiso, we walked past this wonderful place!
-cues flooding of photos-

Super pretty right ♥.
Mandatory photo!
Isn't the scenery much more prettier here? LOL
Love how it feels like you're walking among the stars here.
Very dreamy horh??
I wanna have this place at my house one day pleaseeeee
Finally, at Paradiso!

Sitting outside gives us a waterfront view, which is quite relaxing.
Although for me I chose to sit facing the restaurant hahaha.
I'm not gonna give a review on every dish cuz we decided to be normal human beings and eat peacefully instead of snapping each dish before we get to eat.
But the most memorable one was the first dish to come up, a seafood platter with rice called Mariscos a la Valenciana...
BECAUSE IT WAS SO SPICY.

It looked harmless until I nom nom nom-ed
I downed one whole freaking glass of water from eating a small plateful of it LOL.
But it was nice after you get used to the spicy-ness, and the prawns were good.

-inserts random pic of myself-
Paradiso only has one washroom that can be used by both ladies and gents, and interestingly enough I think it's air-conditioned LOL

My mum says that it's kinda dirty cuz there were stains on the toilet seat,
so she had to wash the seat before she dared to use.
Tsk-tsks to all the guys who couldn't aim properly.
And yeah, they should probably check on the hygiene level of their toilet more often.

Here's a family pic :)
So hard to adjust the brightness of the photo :/ Too bright and the cake looks like it's on fire.
The photo was taken by one of the staff working there.
See? Friendly service!

More pics of our birthday boy~
The cake was a mango mousse cake from Bakerzin,
and it was not bad! (Y)
My mum ordered another chocolate mousse cake for the actual birthday tomorrow.
Omg so fattening -cries many rivers-

This pic turned out kinda nice cuz my mum used flash with her iphone~
Did I mention I hate flashes?
But the pic turned out ok so I'm ok with it too hehe :P
After taking the pic I was like whining about the flash and stuff and my mum went to take another pic.. and I immediately shut myself up and posed for the pic the moment I saw the flash. LOL.

Not bad right? HAHAHA
My mum so evil lor, she laughed like siao after taking the pic sia.
My aunt and uncle laughed like siao too.
And I laughed like siao three.
My aunt was impressed with how fast I reacted HAHAHA.
Can't help it, born ready for cameras LOL.

My #ootd~
Nope I'm not wearing heels, maybe I'm too tired cuz for a moment I thought I was wearing heels.
Not uploading many photos cuz photos taken at night are just so unflattering.
Time to invest in a good camera maybe?

The dinner was a good way to end off my evening.
Didn't go for manicure with Claudia and Ashleigh as planned cuz I just remembered that I'm going back to work for the weekend, so no manicure for me :(

Anyway, if you wanna dine at Paradiso, you can book a table online through their website.
It's kinda troublesome if you wanna take public transport there, so I would suggest going by car or cab.
My mum met us there from work so we had to take public transport..
Take MRT to Harbourfront MRT station and take the Sentosa Express to Beach Station (last station).
They have free shuttle bus service there, so look for a sign that says Bus 3.
The bus comes at 30 min intervals, so if you missed the bus by 5 min like us...
I feel you. Hahaha.
Alight at Sentosa Cove Village, which is the 4th stop from the station.
You should ask the bus driver when to alight because the bus doesn't stop unless someone rang the bell, so you might lose count of the number of stops.
From there, go down the stairs and you will be able to see a few restaurants.
You'll have to walk a bit though, just treat it as exercising luh :)

Okiee, off to bed already~
I think I can't wake up early to go Johor with my mum le, it's 2am now.
Woots, good night sweethearts!

Thanks for reading! ^^

[BTS] Photoshoot for DF concert

Last Saturday was the first Saturday since a long time that I got to spend away from Microsoft Word and Microsoft Powerpoint and Sony Movie Maker.
I spent my day having a photoshoot!
It's for Dance Factory's concert on 15 Dec, and I'll be performing 4 items.
4 sets of costume oh my should consider bringing a luggage bag haha.
Anyway, I enjoyed myself thoroughly!

Woke up early to do my make up:

Using Freshkon's sponsored monthly contacts from the Sparklers series, Glinting Brown.

Posing with my $15 Frankenstein cap bought from Bugis Street teehee!
Pimples everywhere (thankgod for concealers) cuz of PW ohmytian. So sad! -sob sob-

And now, for the behind-the-scenes special!
The photos below were taken using the 美图秀秀 app on Shuyi's phone.
We were crazy over how great the photos turned out!
But it's all cuz of the special effect hahaha.
We used 特效相机 > 美颜 > 甜美可人 to take the photos, but one thing about the app is that it takes time to process the image after each shot and you have to save them individually and then click the button to continue taking pictures.
So you can't use it to take burst shots or continually zipai-ing!

Introducing to you my crew, Girl's Nation a.k.a DF Babes!

From left to right: Qiann (instructor), me, Jacky (instructor), Sookyee (behind Jacky), Claudia, Shuyi :)
We were sitting on a bench beside the actual shooting space and having our mini photoshoot!
I think we were totally judged like mad but we don't care LOL.

Wacky Jacky with the pink feather earring, too funny le hahaha~

And now, ladies and gentlemen, prepare yourselves for the crazy girls!

We totally lost our minds.
I didn't even dare to look around and see if people were staring xD
Time for my solo shots!

This is my outfit for our crew's item.
The top is from Jurong Point, $15.
My grandmother helped to crop and sew the bottom of the top for me^^
I totally love the design of the sleeves, although the front is kinda plain.
Pants bought from Bugis a long time ago.
High heel booties from bugis at $35.

뿌잉뿌잉~
Double Aegyo Buing vs Single Badass Buing?

We actually spent the whole day at the studio~
The photoshoot part was spent chionging in and out of the toilet or changing room,
getting into our different outfits for different items.
Didn't get to take photos in other outfits cuz we had to change into the
next one immediately.

So what do you think about the 美图秀秀 app?
I think the effects are nt bad, but like most photos taken using phones,
they are lower in quality and it's much more obvious when
you look at them through computer screens.

The photos also turn out to be longer when you take them using portrait mode
and wider when taken in landscape mode.
I think that's good, cuz you can crop out the part you want later,
and more people can fit into the photo even though
they are cropped out before the photo is taken.

It also takes time to process the photos like I mentioned earlier.
Not suitable for impatient people plus your face might get cramps when you smile too long.

Still on a look-out for nice photo-editing apps!
Do share with me the apps that you think are nice to use^^

What does the fox say!
It's supposed to be a fox HAHA.
That's all folks! Ciao~ ^^

01 November 2013

So long, PW.

Hi all, before I begin this post maybe you wanna brace yourself a little...
I AM FREE FROM PW WHOOPEEEEEE!!
I asked yall to have 心里准备 cuz I always scream out the words in my head when I see them all in caps hahaha.
Finally, after a gruelling year of Project Work, we are free.
We submitted our Group Project File today, which marks the end of PW.

PW is basically the craziest period so far throughout my 5 years in RV, and we know that next year, A levels will be our next big hurdle.
I will definitely miss the times chionging reports in school the last few days before submission, spending sleepless nights trying to squeeze ideas out of my dried brain and attempting to make sense of what I was typing.

There was even once I didn't sleep a wink the whole night to do up the ppt for OP and headed off for school right after that.
I was so sad that day because my tutor didn't like the style of the ppt and it had to be redone :(
But I was grateful that my group mates were willing to share the burden and help out :)

I have to tell you how much I love my group, RV047.

Taken right after our OP ended.
WE WERE SO HAPPY.
I think that every group has their own story to tell,
and ours is just full of nonsense, with lots of singing and of course, Jeremy getting bullied hahaha.
I will miss laughing at Jeremy's bad pronunciation of chinese words while recording our earthquake song.
I will miss Junhan's constant highing and how everyone would tell him to tone down.
I will also miss those crazy times when we had a group karaoke session after pw discussion at Gracia's house.
I even have the recordings and I tell you they sound HILARIOUSLY HORRIBLE HAHAHA.
I will also miss how obsessed we were with the song 煎熬 by 李佳薇.
It's such a great song by the way!
One of us would start humming or singing the song and usually Jian will just "no please no chinese song omg" xD
Or someone else will "Omg not that song againnnn" hahaha.
And of course, Jeremy's legendary recording of himself trying to match the original key.
Too hilarious le!
Ok luhh gotta admit I do feel kinda bad for him when I let others listen to it...
I won't send it to others okayy! Pinky promise!

After the printing of our Written Report!
We spent the day touching up our WR while Jeremy recorded our Earthquake song haha
My bestie and group leader Gracia :)
It was great time spent with my group mates.
We shared joy, laughter and tears, sometimes frustration.

Surprise birthday celebration for our dear alien Jeremy while doing our WR at Starbucks

Especially in the days leading up to oral presentation, I feel that my class became even closer.
Every day was spent together as a group if not a class, and I particularly enjoyed the last few days when we reported to the school library daily, only leaving when it was late in the evening.
Automatically taking turns to practice our presentation, laughing at each other's weird "thinking face" or "shock face", and even those who can't help but zao sia (go off-tune) when presenting.
Treating the library as our "home", going up and down the stairs just to go toilet.
All of these will be precious memories that I will hold on to dearly.

Of course, I will also miss our PW tutor Ms Wong.
I'm sure we are all used to her accent and how funny her sarcastic remarks are.
I do feel bad towards her for making her stay with us in school till it's dark and she has to miss her meals.
Don't have the impression we mistreat her ok!
We got buy her sandwiches and food de haha, we very considerate de hor!

We gave Ms Wong a puzzle of our class photo taken the day before our OP day :')

She is a really committed teacher, despite her complains that we are "mean people" hahaha.
I love how quick she is with her thinking, and I think she has done a great job despite her first time taking PW.
I hope that she will keep those precious (and maybe not so pleasant at times) memories of us being her first PW class, just like how I will keep those memories close to me.

THANK YOU MS WONG, THANK YOU 5J'13, THANK YOU RV047.

Ms Wong always said in the most dramatic way that life would be beautiful once it's over.
Yes, life is indeed beautiful now.
Freedom has never been sweeter.
