Universal Studios Singapore 25/9/13

Had lots of fun with my girls, Gracia, Jenny and Mag, at USS on Tuesday!
The trip started off with me being late cuz I woke up late hehe..
And the first thing that happened to me upon reaching was getting chased by the Frankenstein mascot LOL!

Okay la not really getting chased, cuz he saw me while he was walking and I glanced at him and tried to avoid him, then he starting walking towards me and I freaked out AND I SCREAMED AND RAN AWAY HAHAHA LIKE SOME SIAO ZHA BOR!
What the hell so scary la, cuz I was alone..

Then I went to find the girls who spent a long time queuing for the tickets and were making their student seasonal passes. So I late nvm la horh hehehe.
(Ok la if yall reading this I'm very very sorry ok I even cabbed there ley boohoo ><)

Jenny, Mag and Gracia taking pic while waiting to make their student seasonal pass~

我来了!!!

The first ride we went on was the Sesame Street-themed Space Chase.
Omg I'm so sorry but it was a little boring for me...
The only cool part was when we were travelling and it felt like we were really in space cuz you feel like you're floating with stars all around you.
Other than that... mehh, too old for such rides le, although I loved watching Sesame Street haha.

At the beginning of the ride~

Do we look drunk HAHAHA
Four QT3.14s hehehe. Mag why you so odd one out! Tsk tsk.

I didn't know what pose to pose so I grabbed the nearest balls.. Eyeballs la!

My dear Elmo, you got licence one anot?!
We also went to the special effects by Steven Spielberg to experience how it's like creating a scene of a hurricane. It was so cool to see all the stuff falling apart and all the explosions LOL sadist iz me hahaha.

While waiting to get in to experience those special effects~

Seeeeee I go library leh! Like a 用功 only HAHA

I think the transformers ride was really cool! The 3D effects and the ride stimulations were super realistic. We were lucky there wasn't much queue since it wasn't a public holiday, cuz the last time I went the queue was kinda long!

Before the transformers ride

I think being a Transformer mascot is damn cool, I wonder how it's like to be inside this costume!
Time for some snacks, yum yum in our tum tum!

Noodle Dog! It's damn messy when eating this cuz all the noodle will fly everywhere when you bite it!

Churros! It was my first time trying it, but the girls said it didn't taste as good..

The mummy ride was epic haha, I've never dared to open my eyes since the first time I sat on it, so this time I tried... Ok la not that scary, except for the part when they try to scare you before the actual roller coaster ride.
It's even funnier cuz we tried to pose for the camera!
Tried to maintain a straight face or do the peace sign, plus I even screamed with a singing voice... Like those high opera notes HAHA and Jenny is damn funny lor can hear her laughing throughout the ride. I think we went on the mummy ride at least 3 times LOL.

Excuse me, yall so tall how to find girlfriend har?!

These 2 guys scared mag they all as we walked out of the locker room.. Then we chiong back to get the camera to take pic with them HAHA
Seriously I think the hottest mascots in USS are those from the Army of Anubis kekeke. Nice chiselled abs plus I love the Egyptian makeup!
The guys in the 1st pic make poses in a super coordinated manner that it's interesting just to watch them haha.
The jackal guys (2nd pic) are even cooler cuz they make these Grrr sounds at the back of their throats like animals would, and they enjoy scaring people lol. It's funny cuz they can't talk to you but I swear I heard one of them say hi while we were taking the photo!

The Jurassic park water ride had a short queue too! We were on the same ride with 3 angmoh guys...
Sadly they were a grandfather-father-son trio HAHA.
The little boy was so cute! Pedo pedo pedo xD
Jenny had a shock at the beginning cuz the little boy told her she's gonna get drenched the most..
Turns out I was the one who got the wettest lorh!
My hair and body was totally wet boooooo but it was fun la hahaha!
But one thing about that ride is that the handles and the seat belts stink oops.

After that we went to watch Shrek 4D! Not bad quite nice, but the part before we go in don't really link leh, or maybe I'm just dumb? It sounded as if we were gonna get tortured inside but it really felt like we were just watching a movie haha.

We actually wanted to sit on the little ferris wheel inside the potion shop but we got distracted by the Fairy Godmother! She's so cute haha and she was so sweet to little kids, letting them hold her wand and stuff. Her hair must be really heavy LOL.

Do we look alike? Do we? DO WE???
We are the prettiest ogres you can find LOL

Bij pls I'm a pwincess!
(Solli ahh photo taken with phone camera + lighting not good)

The gingerbread man damn cute omg wanted to get one since forever but very ex ley!

This is a comparison between me in 2010 (left) and me in 2013 (right). Last time really飞机场lor, now at least airplane cannot take off HAHAHA

The Madagascar ride (the boat one) was another boring ride oops. It was so slowwwwww.
Gotta admit the characters and animations and set-ups were amazing, but it's more for little kids and Madagascar fans luhhh, at least that's what I feel. Not something that will excite me haha.

We wanted to look like the characters behind us.. Guess my neck isn't long enough LOL

We are not fans of Alex hahaha we just ran out of poses!

Then we went to watch Monster Rock! It was my first time watching it and it's super awesome!
It's about monsters such as Frankenstein, a Mummy, Dracula and etc. coming "alive" and they sing and dance. Macam free concert hahaha. Must go watch when you go USS!

Peekture before it starts!
Oops photobombed. Uncle you wanna join us can just tell us right?
Noiii jkjk hahaha~
来多一个合照! I'm alr in the rocker mood!
After that jiu go take more photos loe!

Hobos and paikias in the making LOL

Our silly poses haha.. The person wasn't sure if we were posing so she had to ask if we're ready LOL

What kind of pose is this HAHAHA
Many of these photos were hard to take okay we had to camp there and wait for people to pass by and help us take derh!

Marilyn Monroe~ We wanted to take a pic with her in the signature hold-skirt-down-from-wind pose but before we could say anything she told us to blow kisses at the camera so ok lor we kiss we kiss hahaha
Met Frankenstein before we left and this time I was ok with taking a pic cuz I wasn't alone!

It was so scary omg omg didn't dare to let him touch cuz he was all rubbery, end up got the weird expressions on me and Gracia's face XD
Then the weirdest thing happened to me lol, after we took the photo, the Frankenstein requested to take one more pic with me...

And he grabbed me into this pose and placed my hands on his chest and I was like wha---?

He requested to take another pic and he knelt down and I was like hang on a sec where is the ring hellooooo? HAHA no laaa jkjk! After this he made a "call me" sign with his hands and I was kinda shocked. Totally unexpected can..
As I bent down to get my bags the girls told me he made a gesture by tapping his finger against his temple. No wonder I heard murmurs like "oohhhh he remembers" but I was too cua to figure out what they meant at that point of time cuz I didn't see.
So they guessed that he remembered me screaming and running away in the morn.
Not really a glam thing worth remembering HAHA but ok la it was interesting lor, and it totally made my day LOL wonder how the actor inside looks like!

One last photo before we leave. The person who helped us take this pic was so nice, she waited till the globe spin until the words can be seen nicely. :) And the lens flare effect like a chio hahaha.

Well that concludes our trip to USS! Fab to da max!
The only sad thing was that the Cylon and Human rollercoaster ride was still down. :( I love the Cylon ride (the blue one where your legs are hanging). Hope the next time we go it will be operating.
This is a super long post you mei you with so many photos wahaha.
Don't worry! More photos will be up on fb!
Seeeeeya! ^^

Photos taken by Gracia's Canon camera.
Credits to us and all the random people who helped us take the photos at USS.

Rebonding at Auntie Xiuzhen's

Heyya waddup!
Finally ended my promos last Friday, freedom has never felt so sweet heh heh.
The past few days were totally awesome! There are so many things to share that I'm gonna split them into separate posts okiee.

So first up, I'm gonna share about my experience with Auntie Xiuzhen!

No la, not my auntie okay hahaha. She's a hairdresser and she opens a home salon.
(Disclaimer first ah this is not an ad! I'm just sharing my experience okie.)
Meaning, customers go to her place to get their hair done.
I found out about her through my mum's friend.
I have horrible frizzy hair and I wanted to get rid of them but I don't have the patience (like my mum) to apply hair cream and massage the roots every night.

(Before)
Loooooook my hair so cui :( I want soft and silky hair too!

So I told my mum I wanted to do soft rebonding because I actually liked my slight natural curls and I didn't want my hair to be super duper straight.
And you know, rebonding and soft rebonding can be quite ex in normal salons!
My mum helped me ask her friend and we got to know about Auntie Xiuzhen. We went online and Googled her and wow, she's really quite famous! The reviews are all good plus she charges a reasonable price (I got mine done at $65, hair length around chest level.) so we went ahead to make an appointment with her.

She doesn't do soft rebonding but my mum was nice enough to help me make an appointment with her so no complains!

When my mum tried to call her on Sunday she didn't pick up, but she Whatsapped and said she was away in Malaysia and asked us to give her a date and time. Surprisingly, unlike many reviews I saw that said they had to wait about a week or two, I got my slot on the next day (Monday).

On Monday I went to Auntie Xiuzhen's house alone. She lives in a HDB flat and many said it was hard to find the block. I took bus 99 and alighted at block 734A instead of bus 179 from Boon Lay bus interchange and alighting at City Harvest Church bus stop because I found it further to walk from there.

When I reached her house I pressed the doorbell but nobody answered and I was a little scared I got the address wrong. But I could smell the faint smell of those hair chemicals you smell in salons so I guessed I should be at the right place and waited. She was actually helping another customer wash her hair and she came to open the door after a while.

My first impression of her was that she seemed friendly! I was a kinda nervous cuz many people said she was fierce and probed into her customers' private lives. But nah, she only chatted with me about her trip to Redang Island and how she got tanned haha. She did ask about my age, maybe she couldn't find topics to talk about cuz she said I'm very young haha!

After putting on the cream. Quickly take a pic while I'm alone!
The entire process took about 2 hours, and about half an hour after I started my rebonding more people started coming in. She would alternate between helping one person put the cream and while waiting help the next customer. So in a sense she makes use of time really well!

After washing off the first cream. Quickly snap a pic again hahaha!
She has 2 hair dryers and she would pass one to me so both of us can dry my hair simultaneously.
Cool right?

Like some secret mission lolol later she suddenly open the door and see me zilian-ing how?!
I agree with all the reviews that her skills are not bad! It's so different from the first time I rebonded my hair while having a holiday in China. They applied heat after putting the cream and it scalded where the cream got onto my scalp. That was I think 3 years back? Auntie Xiuzhen doesn't heat my hair like that so I think it does less damage! I've never rebonded my hair since the last time so I don't really know how they do it SG salons haha. Aiya dun call me sua ku can anot??

After leaving Auntie Xiuzhen's place, tadaa~
Soft and silky hair! Although very straight and flat haha
I think Auntie Xiuzhen is a really special person. She sort of sees your personality by your hair texture and stuff, and she can be quite accurate. She says that I'm very 心软 cuz my hair is quite "weak", "很容易受伤". Okayy, kinda true la. She also believes that our hair is the reflection of our inner selves and we can improve our hair texture by first improving how we think. Hmm very special theory! It depends on whether you believe it or not, personally I'm an easily convinced person lol so ok la I tried to 心硬一点 ok hahaha!

Those were taken yesterday before I left for USS (wait for my next post soon ok hehe), one day after I rebonded my hair! Omg I can totally get used to the smooth and silky feeling AND not seeing all the curly wurly frizzes sticking out everywhere :D For now I have to be a little more hardworking and try to apply hair cream frequently so that I can have healthy hair!

By the way my grandmother helped me cut my hair (she used to be a hairdresser I can't remember if I said this before) in the morning before I headed over to Auntie Xiuzhen's. I heard that she only does rebonding, but actually no lehh I saw her cutting and dyeing hair for another auntie after me! Another girl (in her twenties) even requested to only rebond her fringe and she was charged $10.
I think it depends on what you want la, just tell her beforehand can liao!

So if you're looking for cheap hair rebonding in Jurong West you can find Auntie Xiuzhen!
Like I said this is not an ad so I shall not leave her address and phone number here. If you're interested you can google her (just type Auntie Xiuzhen) and there will be a lot of info! You can even check out other reviews from forums and blogs ^^

That's it for this post about my trip to a home salon! It was a different experience and I think it's really cool!
Can't wait to blog more now that I have more time hehe.
Byeeeeeee~
